PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a type body and other mechanism, by providing a means for detecting the presence of the type body at an initial position and a control means performing predetermined error processing when said detection means detects that the type body is not arranged at the initial position. CONSTITUTION:A daisy wheel 5 is allowed to fall between a drive part 40 and a press part 20 and a lever 8 is pressed to a C-direction to lock the daisy wheel 5 in a state held between the drive part 40 and the press part 20 to couple the drive part 40 with the daisy wheel 5. If the daisy wheel 5 is mounted at a correct initial mount position, the optical axis of a photointerruptor 30 is blocked by a ratchet part 5c and a wheel mount signal is generated from the photointerruptor 30. When a cap 5a does not accurately cross the optical axis of the photointerruptor 30, no detection signal is generated and, and when the lever 8 is allowed to fall manually, buzzer sound or an alarm lamp allows an operator to prohibit further operation and urges the operator to mount the daisy wheel 5 to the accurate initial position. When the lever 8 is allowed to fall automatically, the driving of the lever 8 is prohibited. |
