PURPOSE:To securely read a bar code and to confirm its normalcy by employing an auditory buzzer display or a bar code information display and also displaying an intermittent signal visibly on a bar code reader when the normalcy of a bar code read is made clear. CONSTITUTION:When a processing part 6 decides that a bar code read is normal from the check result of a data check part 9 with respect to code information obtained by demodulating a bar code signal read by the bar code reader and a check OK signal is sent out, the display part 10 in a processor displays the normalcy of the bar code read by the buzzer display or data display and a read normalcy display signal which intermits visually is sent out by a signal transmission part 52 to blink the intermittent signal display means (light emitting diode) 53 in the bar code reader. Consequently, the normalcy of the bar code read is confirmed securely.
