PURPOSE:To easily grasp a true cause of a trouble to take a proper countermeasure by providing a means, which manually or automatically checks respective cleaning performance of cleaning means, to confirm respective performance of cleaning means independently. CONSTITUTION:The performance of a fur brush and a blade is checked, and a solenoid which applies a pressure to the blade 4 is turned off to release the blade 4, and the performance of only the fur brush 3 is checked. A private switch is provided to turn on/off the solenoid. The performance of the fur brush and the blade and that of only the fur brush are compared with each other to discriminate whether the performance of the fur brush 3 or the blade 4 is degraded. If the performance of only the fur brush 3 is degraded, its contents are checked; and if the resistance value of the fur brush, a PCC current, the voltage of a bias roll, or the like is a problem, cleaning, resetting, or replacement is performed.
