PURPOSE:To attain the print and reproduction of a picture without lowering, the processing speed and picture quality by discriminating the presence/absence of error production from a received data by one line and an added discrimination code to apply the print processing. CONSTITUTION:When no inconsistency exists between a received data by one line and a cyclic redundancy code CRC added thereto, it is regarded that no error takes palce and the processing is executed accordingly. Then a control signal is outputted from a picture data input port 1g to a shuttle type head 5 to drive the heater TH of a ceramic base 14 in matching with the forward/ backward movement of the head 5 and the print is applied to paper 4 by the print of the period shuttle system. If an error takes place in the reception data, the picture data by the next one line is inputted, and when no error takes place, the picture data of the line having the error is forecasted and restored from the data of the preceding and succeeding lines with respect to the line having the error to apply the print processing.
