PURPOSE:To make distribution of active material in a thickness direction uniform by immersing a porous substrate in an raw active material salt solution for a long time from the second impregnating operation, then washing by water. CONSTITUTION:If a porous substrate is immersed in a raw active material salt solution for a long time from the second impregnating operation, the raw salt reacts with active material comprising hydroxide fixed in the first impreg nating operation, then an intermediate having low fluidity and which does not flow out by washing is produced. By this reaction, the active material is fixed, and free raw active material salt is removed through washing by water. There by, distribution of the active material in a thickness direction can be uniform without excess deposition near the surface, and the sufficient amount of impreg nation is ensured without scratching the surface of the plate. |
