IMAGE FORMING MATERIAL AND ITS FORMING METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain an image having high contrast and high optical density by providing a colored layer by a dye which is soluble in an aq. alkaline soln. and soluble in an org. solvent on a substrate and providing a photoresist layer which can be developed by the aq. alkaline soln. thereon. CONSTITUTION:The colored layer 2 which consists of one or plural dyes soluble in the aq. alkaline soln. and soluble in the org. solvent or is further mixed with an org. solvent, i.e. high-polymer material is provided on the substrate 1. The photoresist layer 3 which can be developed by the aq. alkaline soln. is provided thereon. Materials which are selected from the group of solvent colors or oil soluble dyes, etc. and have the property to dissolve in the aq. alkaline soln. are used for the dye. An original 4 is passed through the image forming material and is exposed with active light 5 in the stage of forming the image. The developing process of the resist layer 3 by the aq. alkaline soln. and the etching process to remove the colored layer 2 of the part exposed by the developing process are then executed to form the image.
