PURPOSE:To instantaneously confirm a terminating subscriber by detecting the depression of a circuit button of a speaking circuit used by another subscriber in the same multiline when a specific subscriber depresses the circuit button and displaying the subscriber's No. of the speaking terminating subscriber. CONSTITUTION:In case of speaking between extension subscribers 1 and 3, a circuit display lamp 10 indicating the circuit used by the subscriber 1 is lighting in a multifunction telephone set for the subscriber 2. When the subscriber 2 depresses a circuit button 11 corresponding to the circuit lighting the lamp 10 under said state, a subscriber circuit 5 detects the operation. A central control device 7 receiving the information controls a main storage device 8 to discriminates whether the subscriber 2 is the specific subscriber allowed to check the speaking terminating subscriber's number or not. When the subscriber 2 is the specific subscriber, the subscriber's number of the subscriber 3 read out from the main storage device 8 is displayed on a display part 9 of the multifunction telephone set for the subscriber 2.
