PURPOSE:To decrease the generation of cracks and to improve magnetic characteristics by packing V2O5 between butt surfaces, a groove for controlling a track width and a groove for winding provided to one core and joining the cores. CONSTITUTION:The opposed gap surfaces controlling the track width Tw of the cores 1, 2 are finished to the specular surfaces and after thin Co amorphous alloy films 3 are formed thereon, the V2O5 glass 4 is packed into the grooves for controlling the track width Tw of the respective cores by a heat treatment and further the opposed gap surfaces are polished to the specular surface to form the head butt surfaces. After a gap control material is formed on the surfaces, the cores 1, 2 are butted to each other, the opposed gap surfaces, the grooves 5 for controlling the track width Tw and the groove 6 for winding are treated similarly with the V2O5 glass 4 by which joining and reinforcing are executed. The joint strength is thereby improved, the generation of cracking during working is decreased, the yield is remarkably improved and reliability is improved.
