PURPOSE:To prevent the disturbance of print due to a disturbance of temperature by providing means for detecting the temperature near an ink heating portion under printing, a variable power source connected to a plurality remaining heat electrodes contacting a resistive layer and a control mechanism for varying the voltage of the variable power source based upon a signal fed from the temperature detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A control section 102 detects the temperature of a temperature detecting means 57 and sets the output of a variable power source 103 so as to apply a voltage to between remaining heat electrodes 100, 101 thereby a current flows through a resistive layer 14 between said electrodes 100, 101 thus heating the resistive layer 14. The temperature near a recording portion is maintained at a preset level through said feedback loop where said temperature is set to a level higher than the maximum level to be predicted by considering an environment temperature, accumulation of heat in a recording head, etc. while lower than the active temperature of ink. Consequently, variations in printing density due to the disturbance of temperature such as variations in environmental temperature, accumulation of heat in the recording head, etc. can be prevented by means of a relatively simple mechanism without requiring a heat producing mechanism such as an independent heater. |
