发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS PRODUCTION
摘要 PURPOSE:To decrease the coefft. of friction of the surface of a magnetic layer and to obtain good running performance by constituting a titled medium of the magnetic layer and a monomolecular film or cumulative film which consists of a specific compd. and is formed on said layer. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium is constituted of a nonmagnetic base, the magnetic layer which is laminated on said base and is formed by dispersing ferromagnetic powder into a binder and the perpendicularly oriented monomolecular film or cumulative film which is formed on the magnetic layer and consists of a satd. fatty acid and/or alkaline metallic salt of the fatty acid of 10-24C. The low coefft. of friction of the surface of the magnetic layer and the good running performance are obtd. by such constitution. The removal of the medium by contact with the supporting rod of a traveling system or magnetic head in a recording and reproducing device during traveling is decreased and the running performance which is good for a long period of time is assured. Since there is no particular need for adding a lubricating agent into the magnetic layer, the content of the ferromagnetic powder is increased and the electromagnetic conversion characteristic is improved.
