Title compds. I [X,Y=halo; n=4-6 , useful as insecticide, are prepd. Thus, a mixt. contg. 1.03g 2,4,5-trichloroimidazole, 0.61g triethyl amine, and 30ml toluene is treated with 1.48g 4bromobuthoxy methyl bromide, stirred for 2h at room temp. and washed with 10ml toluene to give 0.78g 1-(4-bromobuthoxy-methyl)2,4,5-trichloro imidazole.
