PURPOSE:To receive infrared rays in many directions without providing plural infrared photodetection part nor providing a wide infrared photodetection part by providing a base material which changes courses of infrared rays by reflection or refraction, etc., at the periphery of an infrared photodetection part. CONSTITUTION:An infrared-ray receiver 3 is provided with the base material 4 made of a translucent plane plate at the periphery of the infrared photodetection part 5. This base material 4 reflects photodetected infrared rays and guides them to the infrared photodetection part. When an infrared ray is transmitted from an infrared-ray transmitter 6 to the infrared-ray receiver 3, this infrared ray reaches the base material 4 and is reflected by its surface, but part of it is transmitted and reflected repeatedly in the base material 4, and the infrared ray is photodetected by the infrared photodetection part 5 and received as a signal. |
