<p>PURPOSE:To suppress an increase in the amount of information generated at the time of in-frame coding by performing the inframe coding of only one of two fields in a frame which is an objective of the in-frame encoding. CONSTITUTION:The image signal of the 1st field between the 1st and the 2nd fields forming one frame of an input picture signal is inputted firstly. A 1st-field/2nd-field signal indicating that the 1st field signal is inputted is passed through a delay device 9 and reaches a changeover switch in time with the arrival of the head data in the 1st field at the changeover switch 11, which is set to the 1st field side (contact 11b). Then when the 2nd field signal is inputted as an input picture signal, a controller 12 places a changeover switch 7 at the side of a changeover switch 10 (contact 7b) and the changeover switch 10 at the 1st field side (contact 10b), so a subtracter 2 calculates the difference between the decoding results (contents of field memory 8a of the 2nd input field signal and the 1st input field signal.</p> |
