PURPOSE:To prevent frothing when a cylindrical body to be coated is pulled up by providing a protruding part which penetrates into an aperture at the lower part of the cylindrical body when the cylindrical body with the closed upper part and the opened lower part is dipped in a paint vessel. CONSTITUTION:The protruding part 7 is supported by a supporting rod 8, protruded upward, and arranged almost at the center of the bottom of the paint vessel 5 in the dip coating method for coating only the outer surface of the cylindrical body. When the cylindrical body 1 is lowered and the aperture 1a at the lower part of the cylindrical body 1 reaches the protruding part 7, the inner volume of the cylindrical body 1 is reduced by the volume corresponding to that of the protruding part 7. Consequently, a part of the air in the cylindrical body 1 is pushed out as bubbles. The generation of bubbles when the cylindrical body is pulled up can be prevented in this way, and a uniform coating can be applied on the outer surface of the cylindrical body.
