The disintegrating apparatus for commercial or industrial waste comprises a receiving container, having a vertical main container axis, for the material to be disintegrated, which container merges, at least in its lower region, into a funnel which, in its main part, is approximately circular-conical and, in its lower region, circumscribes an outlet opening. Assigned to the outlet opening is a cutting mechanism which has a rotor with cutting knives, which rotor can be caused to rotate about a vertical axis of rotation by means of a drive motor, the cutting edges of the cutting knives passing through an at least approximately closed surface of cutting action, which sweeps over the outlet opening, as the rotor rotates. Above the rotor, there is provided a crushing and conveying tool, which rotates with the rotor and is effective in the funnel space above the outlet opening. At the same time, the outlet opening is aligned approximately vertically and passes through the lower region of the funnel centrally or in a chord-shaped manner. The rotor is, furthermore, fitted at its peripheral surface with knives arranged one above the other, which pass through an approximately cylindrical surface of cutting action, which passes through the outlet opening.
