The invention relates to an energy supply chain, the box-shaped chain links of which are composed of a base plate, of side walls which project at right angles therefrom and of a removable top plate and are connected to one another in an articulated manner, stops restricting their pivot movement. In said chain, the top plates and the base plates of successive chain links overlap one another telescopically. In conjunction with the bent-off configuration of the side walls, this results in an interior space which is closed in the form of a tube and is largely protected against the penetration of dirt and splashing water.
