The invention relates to a device (1) for drying hands or hair with a blower having a fan with a motor (20), a heating element and a time switch (34) and with an electrical connection for connecting the blower to a voltage source, which is fixedly attached to a wall. The attachment takes place via a wall plate (2) which has a groove along its circumference. The blower with all the parts is received as a blower unit (4) in a housing (3) which on its rear side is provided with a spring for insertion into the groove of the wall plate. The electrical connection comprises a first plug part (32), which is connected to the blower unit, and a second plug part (11), which is connected to the wall plate, the plug parts entering into engagement when the housing is slid onto the wall plate. <IMAGE>
