Method and device for testing the surface of a curved body, in particular the parabolic reflection surface of a reader reflector, having a plane table and a multiplicity of measuring plungers which scan the surface of the plane table. The body to be tested is fixed in a desired position with respect to the surface of the plane table, the distance between the points on the surface to be tested as they are defined by the measuring plungers and the surface of the plane table is measured, and the deviation from desired distances of the defined points is registered.
