The invention relates to an arrangement for controlling the motor moment of stepping motors, and is used for optimum design of the dynamic behaviour and the energy balance of stepping motors. The object of the invention is to control the behaviour of the motor moment of a stepping motor freely while the step is being carried out, it being possible to change the motor moment as required between a maximum value and zero. According to the invention, gates are arranged in a stepping motor controller between a pulse distributor and driver stages, which gates are connected to a controlled clock-pulse generator and to the output of the stepping-pulse generator. The magnitude of the motor moment is determined via the duty ratio of the pulses of the controlled clock-pulse generator, as a function of the applied control voltage.
