PURPOSE:To enable the shortening of clamping and positioning time for a workpiece and a pallet by letting a guide face receive a load from the workpiece in a tumbled state via a clamping arm and holding the workpiece at the pallet side. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 'W' is positioned by pins 24 and 25 supported with a plurality of carriers 23 projected from the edge of a through hole 22 to the inside thereof and fitted to right and left carriers 23. Clamping arms 30 and 31 are so supported as to be capable of turning vertically at two positions on the upper surface of an upper plate 11 via support axes 32 and 33 intersecting the slide direction of a pallet 5 on a cylinder device. Both of said clamping arms 30 and 31 have clamping parts 34 and 35 at each one end thereof for pressing the workpiece 'W' to the carrier 23 of the upper plate 11. The other end is fitted with can followers 36 and 37, and these cam followers 36 and 37 come in contact with the guide faces of guide members 38 and 39 erected from a jig base 8.
