Process for the production of interconnected stacks of plastic carrier bags which have a, for example sinusoidally, projecting handle region, punched-in handle holes and, in the handle region, an interconnection section which is connected via perforations of a perforated line and with which the plastic carrier bags are joined to form a block and from which the individual plastic carrier bags can be torn off. A film web with two base-seam longitudinal edges and a longitudinally extending clearance gap between the upper web parts is guided intermittently through a processing station, the upper web parts being folded in the region of the clearance gap and reinforcing blanks being adhesively bonded on in the region of the handle holes to be subsequently introduced. Then the folded-up web parts are folded back and, with each operating step, two opposite plastic carrier bags are severed off from the film double web by means of a transverse seam, are stacked and the stack is interconnected. The film double web is provided with a clearance gap between the upper web parts, the width of which corresponds to twice the width of the interconnected sections. The opposite plastic carrier bags are stacked before the handle holes are punched. The stacks are provided, in one operation, by punching with cut-outs forming the handle regions, cut-outs forming interconnected sections, handle recesses and interconnected...
