In order to monitor the stability, in particular the tilt resistance, of a load located on the transport vehicle, the lifting cylinders (3) and the pressure lines of the said cylinders (3) are connected to pressure sensors and the pressure measurement values are fed to a processor, in particular a comparator. When the pressure drops below a set value in a lifting cylinder (3), the pressure medium source is connected to this lifting cylinder (3) to adjust the actual pressure value to the set pressure value. <IMAGE>
