Hialuronic ester is prepd. for use as medicine, cosmetics and plastic material. Carboxylic groups of hialuronic acids are esterified, and the produced hialuronic esters containing aliphatic group, aromatic group, cyclized group and heterocyclized alcohol group are prepd. in their salt forms. Quaterary ammonium salt of hialuronic acid is reacted with an esterfication agent in organic solvent to give hialuronic ester. The starting material, hialuronic acid is extracted from cockscomb.
