PURPOSE:To enhance dimensional stability and production stability by incorporating a specified amount of a specified polyalkylene oxide derivative and a specified vinyl polymer in a layer above a support located on the side of silver halide emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive material containing silver halide grains composed of at least 50mol% silver chloride contains one of the polyalkylene oxide derivatives represented by formula I and one of the vinyl polymer represented by formula II in the layer above the support on the side of the silver halide emulsion layers in an amount of >=0.5g/m<2>. In these formulae, R1 is H or a monovalent organic group; R2 is H or an aliphatic or aromatic group; R3 is a divalent organic group; R4 is 1-4C alkyl, aryl, or the like; each of R5 and R7 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R6 is -COOR8, aryl, or the like; R8 is alkyl or the like; and M is H or an alkali metal. It is preferred to use a silver chlorobromide or chloroiodobromide emulsion containing <=10mol% silver iodide as the silver halide emulsion. |
