PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of unrequired microwaves by setting the magnetic field intensity in a space region demarcated by a circuit separator and the cathode surface facing said separator below 90% of the magnetic field intensity in a mutual interaction space region. CONSTITUTION:B2 represents the magnetic field intensity of the mutual interaction space region and B1 represents the magnetic field intensity in the space region demar cated by the circuit separator 15 and the surface of the cathode 11 facing the circuit separator, thereby, the setting shall be B1<=0.9XB2. By chaning the distance between the magnetic poles existing on the upper and lower sides of the axial cathode section of the cross electromagnetic field amplifier CFA, the magnetic field as shown in the foregoing can be generated. In the CFA having the distribution of the magnetic field as above mentioned, when the electric field intensity between the cathode 11 and the circuit separator 15 is represented by E and said magnetic field intensity is represented by B, since the electric field intensity E is uniform E/B changes with theta. The drift velocity of electrons in the electron current in the CFA is in proportion to E/B, so that the velocity increases in the circuit separator 15. As a result, debunching of the electron current is expedited to suppress the emission of unrepuired microwaves.
