NEW MATERIAL:A pyridazinone derivative of formula I (R<1> is lower alkyl; R<2> is lower alkoxy, cycloalkylalkoxy, lower alkylthio, di-lower alkylamino; X is halogen; Z is O, S). EXAMPLE:2-t-Butyl-4-chloro-5-(4-isopropoxycarbonylbenzyloxy)-3(2H)pyri dazinone. USE:It is used as a fungicide, insecticide or acaricide for agricultural and horticul tural purposes. It kills a variety of insect, mite and fungi pests and protects plants from their attacks. PREPARATION:For example, as shown in the reaction equation, a compound of formula II is allowed to react with another compound of formula III in the presence of a base such as sodium carbonate or diethylamine in an inert solvent such as isopropanol to give the compound of formula I.
