<p>PURPOSE:To execute the converter operation under excellent heat efficiency by connecting plural oxygen blowing converters with waste gas ducts, heating scraps as raw material in the converter under preheating by high temp. combustible gas from the converter under operation and switching over them alternately. CONSTITUTION:In two oxygen top blowing converts (or the top and bottom blowing converters) 1,1', one converter 1 is under operation and the other converter 1' is under preheating of the scraps. The waste gas, containing CO at high temp. from the converter 1, is supplied into the converter 1' under preheating of the raw material from the waste gas duct by double duct, consisting of the inner tube 15 and the outer tube 16 through a damper 10, and contained CO is burnt by sending oxygen from a lance 2' to raise the temp., and the steel scraps 17 as raw material in the converter are heated, and then the waste, gas which has become low in temp. is exhausted out to the air after removing dusts by a dust collector 14 through ducts 5, 6, 9. After finishing the steel making refining operation in the converter 1, the converter 1' is used as the steel making refining furnace in turn, and the high temp. waste gas of the converter 1' is supplied to the converter 1, in which the cold steel is charged after repairing the furnace lining, and by switching over the same steel making operation as the previous heat alternately, the duplex converter operations are executed under high heat efficiency.</p> |
