PURPOSE:To shorten a measurement time by sweeping an electric field and a magnetic field while maintaining a magnetic field B/electric field E at a fixed value on a mass side lower than a specified mass and a B<2>/E ratio at a fixed value on a mass side higher than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A linked scan mass spectrometry is conducted by making a sample ion incident on a mass spectrometric part consiting of an electric field 2 and a magnetic field 3, and sweeping an electric field E and a magnetic field B while maintaining their specified relation with a double focusing mass spectrometer desinged to detect the sample ions passing the mass spectrometric part by meaus of a detector 4 and store them into a processor 6. The sweepig is conducted by maintaining with the processor 6 a B/E ratio at a fixed value on a mass side lower than a specified mass and B<2>/E ratio on a higher mass side. Then, daughter ions originated in parent ions are detected in the first half and parent ions to generate daughter ions are detected in the latter half. Thus, a measurment time can be shortened by a sweeping limited to one time only. |
