PURPOSE:To feed documents automatically, by providing a separation means for separating a lot of document placed from their lower side and a feed mechanism for feeding a document separated to a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:Documents placed on a placing tray 4 are separated one by one from their lower side and its front and back sides are reversed at a reserve unit A. Then, the documents pass on a platen and through portions (A), (B), (C) to be transported to a document placing table 27 and document placing table 12 has a group of the documents placed on it. Next, the documents are separated from their lower side in a required copy mode and the separated documents pass through portions (D), (E) to be supplied onto the platen as a prescribed position for copying. After a copying operation has been completed, the documents are returned onto a non-processing documents on the document placing table 27 through the portions (A), (B), (C). After a copying corresponding to the number of the documents has been completed, the documents on the document placing table 27 are separated from their lower side one by one and pass through the portions (D), (E) and on the platen to be discharged onto a paper discharge tray 24 of the unit A.
