PURPOSE:To obtain the permanent magnet having high coercive force by a method wherein the low-priced element called Fe-B and the La and Ce, which are produced in large quantities among rare-earth metals, are used. CONSTITUTION:The permanent magnet having rare-earth FE-B as the fundamen tal composition consists of the following composition, namely, (CexLal-x)z (Fe1-vBv)1-z in the form of 0.4 <=x 0.9, 0.05 <=z<=0.3 and 0.01<=v<=0.3. This permanent magnet is manufactured using a quick-cooling method, it has the coercive force (iHc) of 4 KOe or more, and the C-axis is preferentially oriented in the direction of planar orientation of a quick-cooling thin strip. Besides, the elements such as Al, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, Mo, Ge, Sb, Sn, Bi, Ni, W, Cu, Ag and the like can be added to the above-mentioned composition, and the coercive force of said fundamental composition can be improved further by adding the above-mentioned elements. |
