PURPOSE:To eliminate influences upon display pictures of light scattering, light transmission, and light absorption due to gap materials by using a light-reactive organic resin to selectively arrange gap materials on a light shielding layer in a liquid crystal display panel. CONSTITUTION:A solution prepared by dispersing ball-shaped gap materials, columnar gap materials 3, or the like in a resin hardened by ultraviolet rays or a photoresist is applied on a counter substrate 1 by roll coating, spin coating, printing, or the like, and this substrate is subjected to prebaking and is exposed through a prescribed exposure mask and is developed and printed. By this stage, gap materials 3 are selectively adhered onto a light shielding layer 2. An organic high polymer layer or an inorganic high polymer layer is formed on a pair of obtained substrates and is subjected to the rubbing treatment, and a twisted nematic liquid crystal is enclosed in vacuum after pressuring and adhering seal peripheries to obtain an active matrix liquid crystal panel. Thus, an apparent aperture rate is improved to obtain pictures which have a high contrast ratio and are superior in color purity. |
