AUTOMATIC TRANSACTION PROCESSOR CONTAINING CARD PRODUCER

PURPOSE:To decrease the breakdown frequency of an automatic transaction processor by collecting a defective card existing in a card carrying path into a defective card collecting box by a conveyor belt lift means and at the same time feeding a new card into the carrying path in case it is decided that the magnetic stripes of an inserted card are defective. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic card is inserted through a card slit 3, a feed motor 43 is driven forward and the magnetic stripes of the card passes over a magnetic head 42. Thus the data on the card are read and sent to a master CPU. When it is decided that the card magnetic stripes are defective, the defective card is carried by the motor 43 and sent to a defective card collecting box 50. Then the drive of the motor 43 is stopped. Then a solenoid 49 is turned on to reverse the motor 43 and at the same time a draw-out motor 48 is driven to send one of those cards stored in a card stocker 46 to a card carrying path 51. Then the motor 48 is stopped and the solenoid 49 is turned off. The card data are written to the magnetic stripes of a new magnetic card and the motor 43 is reversed. Thus the card is ejected up to the position of the slit 3.
