PURPOSE:To perform the projection welding without forming a conduction circuit by melting an intermediate resin layer by an ultrasonic horn and conducting metal plates to each other and pressing the upper and lower electrodes and performing welding electrification. CONSTITUTION:Metal combined material 3 consisting of a plug member 2 and an oil pan is mounted on the upper part of the lower electrode 1. Then, the ultrasonic horn 5 provided to the lower electrode 1 is pressed to the combined material 3 via the member 2 and actuates it and melts a resin film 3a which is the intermediate layer of the combined material 3 and allowing the metal plates to come into contact with each other and these are made in a conductive state. In this state, the upper electrode 4 is pressed to the lower electrode 1 side and the welding electrification is performed. Accordingly, the projection welding can be performed even if the conduction circuit is not formed in advance to the combined material 3.
