PURPOSE:To decrease a backward voltage applied to a diode by adding a protective capacitor to a diode anode side terminal to which the highest backward voltage is applied in an electric discharge. CONSTITUTION:A flyback transformer is provided with an insulating base stand 17 composed of a ceramic substrate and others on its outer surface for a secon dary coil to be wound around and projected terminals 17a for securing diodes 16a-16f are formed at both ends of this base stand 17. In this case, a metal electrode 18A is formed on a surface of the substrate 17 so as to abut against an anode side lead 19 of the (n-1)th (the 5th, as shown in the figure) diode 16e to which the highest backward voltage is applied in an electric discharge. Likewise, an earth electrode 18B is formed also on the substrate back of this portion. Thus, these metal electrodes 18A, 18B can increase an earth capacity on the anode side of the diode 16e by 5-10 times.
