An engine control system consists of sensors for accelerator pedal position, engine speed, shift gear and lever positions, and hydraulic position, circuits for calculating target and maximum injection amount, a discriminator, a small signal priority circuit and an actuator comprising a rack position conversion circuit, a drive circuit and a linear solenoid. Depending upon the output of the discriminator, which tells whether the constructing machine is working or running, one torque characteristic is selected to set the maximum injection amount. Thus a higher torque is set when the machine is working whilst a higher engine speed and a lower torque are given when it is running. |
