MICROORGANISM AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a microorganism, capable of exhibiting antifungal action and having the ability to produce substances YP-02259 L-A, -B and -C, by culitvating and separating Actinosporangium sp. YP-02259L-strain from soil. CONSTITUTION:Actionsporangium sp. YP-02259L strain (FERM-P No. 8707) is cultivated and substances YP-02259-A, YP-02259L-B and YP-02259L-C are separated from the resultant culture. A liquid culture medium normally containing natural nutrient sources is preferred for the culture medium used for cultivating the above-mentioned microorganism. The substance YP-02259L-A can be readily separated from the substances YP-02259L-B and YP-02259L-C by carrying out thin-layer chromatography of a solution of a mixture thereof in methanol using chloroform-methanol as a developing solvent on a silica gel thin-layer plate.
