PURPOSE:To exchange disks at a high speed by providing a disk presence/ absence detecting means at the upper or lower part of a disk set on a disk mounting part to detect the presence/absence of a disk for each rotation of the disk mounting part. CONSTITUTION:When a shift stage 8 is carried into an information processor, a microprocessor 42 actuates a light emitting element of a light emitting part 43. Then a photodetector 44 confirms and stores the presence or absence of a disk 1 set on a disk mounting part 3. A rotary table 5 is turned to shift the adjacent part 3 onto the photodetector 44 and the presence or absence of the disk 1 is confirmed and stored. Hereafter the same procedure is repeated with all parts 3 to grasp the presence or absence of all disks 1 stores in a magazine 2. Then a desired disk 1 is shifted to a reproduction part. In this case, the table 5 is turned when the presence of the disk 1 is decided from the information given from the detector 44. Thus the disk 1 is shifted to the reproducing part and positioned there.
