PURPOSE:To prevent an output image from shifting in position by controlling the delay time of a signal delay means according to the moving speed of an original and photoelectric transducer arrays which are moved by a moving means. For the purpose, the number of delay lines of a line memory 9 which is set by a delay control circuit 10 is made to correspond to the scanning line, and then the position shift between the photoelectric transducer arrays 7a and 7b in the subscanning direction is reduced to<=1/2 and even if the scanning speed is continuously varied within a certain range, the position shift of the output image in the subscanning direction is reduced until there is no problem.
