PURPOSE:To improve the workability, the maintainability and the suitability for inspection of the title transformer by a method wherein a tank is formed in holizontal cylinder form, and a flange part is provided in such a manner that it can be divided into the upper and the lower parts. CONSTITUTION:The tank 1 of a leaf-wound transformer is formed in horizontal cylinder shape, the tank is divided into the upper and the lower parts by positioning it with a mating flange 16 in the horizontal direction, and they are coupled using clamping bolts 17. Also, the tank 1 is fixed to a base 19 using a pedestal 18. In the tank structure made as above-mentioned, the body which is formed integrally with an iron core 2, an insulating cylinder 3, a high tension coil 4, a low tension coil 5 and the like can be inserted from the upper part. The stress of the tank can also be reduced to one third or thereabout of that of the tank heretofore in use.
