NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is lower alkyl; n is 0-2). EXAMPLE:5-(3-Methyl-5-isoxazole)methylene-3-(5-tetrazolylmethyl)rhodan ine. USE:With hypoglycemic action, hypolipemic action, aldose reductase inhibitory action, etc., and useful as a medicine, e.g. drug for diabetes, cataract, etc. PREPARATION:For example, an aldehyde derivative expressed by formula II, e.g. 3-methyl-isoxazole-5-aldehyde, etc., is reacted with 3-(tetrazol-5-yl) methylrhodanine expressed by formula III under normal aldol condensation and Knoevenagel condensation reaction, preferably at 1:1.0-1.2 molar ratio of the former to the latter. |
