PURPOSE:To obtain a function separating type photosensitive body constituted of a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer having superior charge transfer capacity chargeability and sufficient surface potential even in the case of thin film thickness by forming the charge transfer layer of a specified amorphous carbon film contg. H. CONSTITUTION:A function separating type photosensitive body constituted of a charge generating layer 3 and a charge transfer layer 2 is obtd. by forming a charge transfer layer 2 comprising amorphous carbon film contg. H, wherein the ratio N1:N2 between the number (N1) of C atoms bonded to H and the number (N2) of C atoms not bonded to H among C atoms having a single bond in its chemical structure is regulated to 1:0.5-1:0.14. When the a-C film is formed as the charge transfer layer 2 and the value of N2 is >=0.14 setting the value of N1 at 1 among C atoms contained in the a-C film, the specific resistance of the film exceeds first ca. 10<11>OMEGAcm and the mobility of the carrier exceeds 10<-7>cm<2>/(v.sec). Thus, sufficient charge transfer function is obtd. |
