PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body having superior chargeability providing sufficient surface potential even in the case of tin film thickness in a function separating type photosensitive body constituted of a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer by forming the charge transfer layer of a specified amorphous carbon film contg. hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:A function separating type photosensitive body constituted of a charge generating layer 3 and a charge transfer layer 2 is obtd. by forming a charge transfer layer 2 comprising amorphous carbon film contg. H, wherein the ration N1:N2 between the number (N1) of C atoms having unsatd. bond and the number (N2) of C atoms having no unsatd. bond among C atoms bonded to H in the chemical structure is regulated to 1:1-1:16. When the a-C film is formed as the charge transfer layer 2 and the value of N2 is >=1 setting the value of N1 at 1 for the C atoms contained in the a-C film, the specific resistance of the film exceeds first 10<11>OMEGAcm and the mobility of the carrier exceeds 10<-7>cm<2>/(V.sec). Thus, sufficient charge transfer function is obtd. |
