PURPOSE:To decrease unbalanced external force as far as possible and make stable operation with a small balancing device by balancing the inertial force of a rolling mill which converts rotating motion to reciprocating motion by springs and controlling spring force by the change of the spring mounting position corresponding to a rotating speed. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a crank arm 3 by a motor 1 is transmitted by a connecting rod 5 to a stand 8 of a Pilger mill 7 so that the stand moves back and forth. A stand 8 is connected by the springs 9 of the spring constant corresponding to the max. rotating speed in this case to balance the inertial force. Since the length ratio of the arm 3 and the rod 5 is not small, the inertial force thereof cannot be neglected. The piston A position of a hydraulic cylinder 10 is corrected by a signal J1 obtd. by calculation 13 of the detected rotating speed 12 to control the spring force. An error signal J2 by the sliding friction, etc., of the stand 8 is fed by a tension detection 15 signal to correct the piston A position of the cylinder 10. The unbalanced external force is minimized by the above-mentioned technique and the stable operation of the rolling mill is executed with the min. balancing device. |
