PURPOSE:To reduce the space for the arrangement of cables by constituting a cable such that an inner cable and No.1 outer casing are slidably inserted into No.1 flexible outer casing and No.2 flexible outer casing respectively. CONSTITUTION:A control cable 1 is constructed such that an inner cable 2 is slidably inserted into No.1 flexible outer casing 5, and No.1 outer casing 5 is slidably inserted into No.2 flexible outer casing 9, and then is installed between the transmission (not shown) of an automobile and an actuating lever 14. Owing to this constitution, the shifting operation of the actuating lever 14 causes the inner cable 2 to slide within No.1 outer casing 5 for actuating the transmission. And simultaneously the selective actuation of the lever 14 causes No.2 outer casing 9 to slide by way of a spherical body 15, a connecting rod 44, a bellcrank 40, a shaft 41, and a connecting member 33 for actuating the transmission. As a result, a single cable is capable of having two functions for reducing the space for the arrangement of cables. |
