PURPOSE:To stabilize a conveyance attitude and a conveyance speed and to perform accurate component inspection without decreasing the conveyance speed by providing a couple of belts extended in parallel having a gap, and suspending a component with a head in the gap and conveying it. CONSTITUTION:A couple of belt mechanisms 7 and 8 are provided on the base plate 6 of a device 5 and equipped with endless belts 10 and 11 which convey the component A with the head. The belts 10 and 11 is run endlessly by a reversible motor 25 in a constant direction at the same speed through pulleys 20 and 26. Further, the belt 11 is moved by a belt interval adjusting means 50 breadthwise in parallel to the belt 10. Consequently, the belt gap is settable according to the external diameter, etc., of the part of the component A below its head. Then, the component A is conveyed by being clamped between the belts 10 and 11 at such an attitude that the part below the head droops with the head part A1 up. This component A is inspected variously by an inspection part 15 at a halfway point and recovered by a sorting mechanism provided to a carry-out part 16 while sorted by conforming and nonconforming components. Thus, the part below the neck never swings, so high-accuracy inspection is performed even if the component is conveyed at a high speed.
