摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a high-strength sintered Al alloy member in which a coarse intermetallic compd. does not exist by mixing the pulverized powder of an Al alloy contg. the coarse intermetallic compd. having poor mechanical properties with the other Al powder and subjecting the mixture to compaction and sintering. CONSTITUTION:The melt of the Al-Fe-Mn alloy contg. 5-40wt% Fe and 3-25wt% Mn as the elements Fe and Mn forming the intermetallic compd. Al2Fe of the coarse crystal with Al to deteriorate the mechanical properties and consisting of the balance Al is cooled at an ultra-high rate of 10<4>-10<6> deg.C/sec to form <=100mesh powder. The melt of the Al-Si-Cu-Mg alloy contg. 13-29wt% Si, 2-5wt% Cu, and 0.5-2wt% Mg as the 2nd alloy in addition to 5-30wt% such powdery Al-Fe-Mn alloy is mixed with 95-70wt% <=100mesh alloy quickly cooled at 10<2>-10<4> deg.C/sec. After such mixture is molded under pressurization, the molding in sintered. The production of the high-strength sintered Al alloy material is made possible even if said material contains the elements for forming the coarse intermetallic compd. such as Fe with Al having the poor mechanical properties.
