PURPOSE:To make it possible to inexpensively discriminate deterioration with high accuracy, by storing an initial discharge characteristic in a memory device and comparing the stored discharge characteristic with a discharge characteristic at every discharge by an operation device to perform discrimination. CONSTITUTION:A discharge resistor 2 having a relatively large resistance value is provided to the terminal of an electrolytic condenser 1 and a voltage dividing circuit 3 is provided to said resistor 2 to divide voltage. The signal from the circuit 3 is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 21 to be read in an operation device 22. The operation device 22 operates the discharge characteristic of the condenser 1 at the time of deterioration from the discharge characteristic at the first stop time and allows a memory device 23 to store the content of operation. At a stop time on and after the second time, the device 22 compares the signal 11 from the converter 21 with the signal 12 from the device 23 and drives an alarm 7 when the attenuation of the discharge characteristic 11 is ahead of that of the discharge characteristic 12. In this apparatus, because the deterioration of the condenser 1 is detected at every stop of the apparatus, a highly accurate detection apparatus can be obtained inexpensively.
