摘要 |
PURPOSE:To efficiently denitrify a molten Fe or Ni alloy by irradiating electron beams on the surface of the molten alloy in a vacuum melting furnace lined with a CaO-base refractory. CONSTITUTION:A molten Fe or Ni alloy is charged into a vacuum melting furnace lined with a CaO-base refractory to allow oxygen and sulfur in the molten alloy to be adsorbed on the lining. The preferred CaO content in the refractory is >=about 60%. Electron beams are irradiated on the surface of the molten alloy having sufficiently reduced concns. of oxygen and sulfur to keep the surface of the molten alloy at a high temp. in high vacuum. Thus, the molten alloy is efficiently denitrified.
