PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material capable of controlling generation of fog by incorporating a hydrolysate compd. of a quaternary chalcogen azolium salt contg. a specific quaternary group to the photographic material. CONSTITUTION:The photographic material contains the hydrolysate of the quaternary chalcogen azolium salt (A) shown by formula I. In the formula, L is a bivalent binding group, T and T' are each -CO- or -SO2-, W is C or N, Z is a non-metallic atom group necessary to form 5-6 membered heterocyclic ring together with -W-T-NH-T'-, the preferable salt A comprises the compd. shown by formula II wherein R<1> is H or 1-8C an alkyl group, etc., R<2> and R<3> are each H, halogen atom, etc., Q is an quaternary group shown by formula I, X is a middle chalcogen of S or Se, etc., Y<1> is a pair ion, (n) is 0 or 1. Thus, the titled material having a less tendency for generating reduction of the sensitivity and deterioration of gradation due to occurrence of fog during storage is obtd. |
