PURPOSE:To control the radiating angle of a submerged longitudinal wave and to efficiently perform the conversion of an electric signal and the submerged longitudinal wave by specifying the relation of the thickness of a piezoelectric substrate, the array cycle of an electrode, and the speed and the frequency of a ram wave excited on the piezoelectric substrate. CONSTITUTION:On the first surface la of the piezoelectric member substrate 1, an interdigital electrode 2 is formed and the second surface 1b of the piezoelectric substrate 1 is opened. When the thickness of the piezoelectric substrate vertical to the first and the second surfaces 1a, 1b is considered to be D, the array cycle of the electrode 21 of the same polarity of the interdigital electrodes 2 to be P, the speed of the ram wave excited by the piezoelectric substrate to be V, the frequency of the ram wave to be F, and the units of the D and F are respectively represented mm and MHz, D is selected to a value D1 in which F.D is the range of 0.8-2.2 and when V in F;D1 is considered to be V1, P is selected to V1/F.
